SpaceX – FH : seul Suisse accrédité (VAB), j’obtiens enfin mon badge officiel

- Photo : rke
Under a positive stress trip, I get my official SpaceX accreditation. Hey, I am the only Swiss on the Press site !

The long wait for SpaceX accreditation.
[Cape Canaveral, Florida, February 5, 2018, rke] – No, you're not dreaming! I returned to the USA after my 45-day stay (come back on January 10th). I did not take the conventions of good old Switzerland guys to stay in my country, but those of a fan of space and America taking all the risks. Risk that the flight is again postponed for the 6th time. And believe me, I took the right stuff. First, because I got a free ticket from Kuoni Voyages in Bienne (Switzerland) – super non-virtual agency – because I had accumulated plenty of miles previously. And in business class, please!
With my (airline) sweetheart Edelweiss company, I arrived in Florida with a lot of stress. Then, I finally got my 2 accreditation. Oh, finally, 3, more precisely. The VISA media (type I) I had from the consulate of the Embassy of Bern since 2014 and for 5 years, the official dark green badge of the space center and that of SpaceX which you see here. As a result, I am the only officially accredited Swiss (and even possibly European) journalist. The steps are so laborious that it deters other reporters and I’ve been pretty addicted to waiting. SpaceX has applied for registration on December 15th already, having the VISA, of course!

I have very little time to write something for you by this News (I got up at 3am this Tuesday morning February 6), but now that the atmosphere is euphoric here in Cap Canaveral. All hotels far and wide are drunk. I nearly accepted a room at 220 Swiss francs in a low-end hotel. But I managed otherwise.
It reminds me of the beautiful era of the first launch of the shuttle in 1981 – and the last one in 2011. I must leave you, I’m invited to the launch, on the NASA main site, the News Center close to the vehicle Assembly Building (VAB).
Ah, another little anecdote. My notebook got a nasty virus the day I left. I had to use the rescue that I had stored and was sleeping in my wooden bookcase!

Next news: on the PAD 39A, Falcon Heavy photographed under EVERY angle!
