Driving in the USA the night : not recommended
Driving in the USA, is well known tested and proven, it's easy. First, because it has room, lots of field of view and you have the time to react. If you feel like making a long journey, here are some tips. From Houston (TX) to Madison (north FLA), I drove for 14 hours at a stretch with six good saves. I left at midnight thinking make good when everyone is asleep. Well, I was wrong. On U.S. roads, it runs a lot the night, too and it depends on the headlights and more annoying. In addition, the longer stretches speed is reduced by 5 miles (65 instead of 70 per hour). That's not much, but over a long distance, it matters a lot. Then, we tend to make not pause and to insist (wrongly) to really stop and sleep, even if it’s only ten minutes. I know something, because at 11 am, however, after a pause a few moments before I fell in backpacker sleep while driving. This is a real drowsy driving where it’s believed, but we sleep ! We're not asleep, but sleeping with open eyes. Suddenly, I hade an electric shock that shook me awake. I realized my condition and I was really conscious.
So, it’s better to drive in daylight, even for a very long distances. Provided that the following or before night you sleep at least four hours non-stop. Take it in good advice !
